Episodes 106: Let's LUAU!!! Doorscape

Aloha!!!

Yesterday, my daughters hosted a LUAU for some of their friends.  Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. There is a ton to show you, so let's get started with the Luau Doorscape!  I used the paper mesh which I like but find very expensive, especially when you consider that you only get 5 yards of mesh per roll as opposed to the normal 10 yards with the regular mesh.  I bought the signs, leaves, and flowers at Dollar Tree and the leis and tiki torches at Hobby Lobby.  Check out the pics:

These tiki pinatas are from Party City.  I think they really help set the luau mood!

Episode 95: Cinco de Mayo Doorscape!

Hola!

I finished my Cinco de Mayo doorscape today, and I love how colorful and cheery it is!  I used fabric that I purchased at Hobby Lobby instead of mesh.  Then I accented it with turquoise and burlap ribbon (from Trendy Tree and a local store, respectively).  Next, I tried my hand at tissue paper flowers.  I found the fabulous instructions on Pinterest.  Check it out here.  I also have the flower tutorial link in my "Cinco de Mayo" and "Flowers I MUST try" pin boards on Pinterest.  You can start following my boards by clicking on the "Follow me on Pinterest" button in the left hand column of my blog.  I then wired in mini pinatas from Hobby Lobby and the foam margaritas I made earlier this week.  If you missed the margarita blog post, you can check it out here.  I finished the doorscape off with a couple of sombreros instead of wreaths.  Now it's time to fiesta!  Take a look at the pics and video below:
