Winter Themed Side Door

While my front door is the New Year's theme, my side door has been and still is a winter theme.  I plan to leave that up through January, and if winter actually ever comes here, maybe into part of February as well.  For the future, I probably won't put up the garland, or perhaps I will adjust to something thinner.  It is just too full and cumbersome  to walk through.  But I think it looks cute.  Here are the pics.

I used basic white deco mesh from Hobby Lobby on a lighted basic green Christmas Garland.  I used a couple of different types of snowflakes from Hobby Lobby.  The larger snowflakes are sprayed with Krylon Glitter Blast spray in diamond dust.  To see that up close, check out Episode 60: Two Techniques to Create a Snow Effect here.  I just wired in the snowflakes.  I used blue glamour rope as an accent.

The wreath is done on a white work wreath.  The outside row is basic white deco mesh from Hobby Lobby.  The inside row is the white batting made to look like snow.  I wanted to change it up a little.  (I got the sign below the wreath a couple of years ago in Home Goods in Canada.)  The sign in the middle of the wreath was made using a pre-made blank sign I bought from Michael's.  Then I personalized it using blue vinyl cut using the Feeling Groovy cartridge (one of my favs) with my Cricut Expression.

I accented the garland and the wreath with my homemade "BRR" picks.  To learn how to make those, check out the PYL post, Episode 52: Making Your Own Floral Pick here.

Here is a view of the door at night:
