BUT, I got my foyer done! Take a look:
This is a totally different look for me...a winterscape! The two trees also came from Hobby Lobby. I've had them for years. I wanted a really BIG tree for the foyer but simply could not justify the cost this year! All the ornaments came from Hobby Lobby (half off of course). I used shredded cotton balls for the "snow". The sled is a family heirloom that three generations of my family have used. Very sentimental to me. I LOVE using it in my decor!
So what do I hope that you take away from this?
- Try a new color scheme. I was really uneasy about decorating with white, but I like how it turned out.
- Try re-purposing trees that you already have, even if they aren't the right size. Elevate your trees. Get creative with a stand. And GROUP your trees for impact!
- Work your sales at the craft stores! The small icicles were only $0.25 a piece!
- Try using what you have. The cotton ball turned snow experiment worked! And cotton balls are cheap!

Take time to "Prettify Your Life"!!!
I love it! Can't wait to start mine. Only problem is with a 16 month old he grabs everything that he sees! But I will figure something out :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to do the deco mesh on the stairs but don't know how. Will continue to review your blog, it should be here somewhere :-)
Thanks for all the tips
