Episode 104: Luau Invitation--Jazzing Up a Store Bought Invitation

My daughters are hosting a Luau next week, so this calls for some cute invitations!  I was inspired by a pool noodle invite I saw on Pinterest, so I thought I would put my own personal twist to the idea.  From the beginning I wanted Hawaiian shirt invitations and had decided that I would probably end up making them completely from scratch.  However, I found some pre-made Hawaiian shirt invitations yesterday at Hobby Lobby that I figured I could embellish and make look sort of homemade.

Supplies Needed:

  1. Hawaiian shirt invitations from Hobby Lobby
  2. Clear glitter glue
  3. White cardstock (mine is from Wal-Mart)
  4. Computer and printer for the personalization on the inside.
  5. Paper trimmer
  6. Adhesive for the white cardstock.  I use my 3M ATG 714 Gun.  You can buy it here.
  7. Raffia ribbon
  8. Hole punch
  9. Green cardstock (Mine is Stampin' Up! Glorious Green...now retired I think)
  10. Stickles glitter glue in Firefly
  11. Pink By Design "Aloha" stamp set (link is below)
  12. Cricut Cutting Machine (Mine is the Pink Expression)
  13. Cricut Cartridge Life's A Beach
  14. Black Ink and acrylic block for the cling stamp
  15. Pool Noodle

Check out the video:

And here are some pics:

I used Stickles glitter glue in the Firefly color to outline the leaf.  The stamp set called Aloha  is from Pink By Design.  Check it out here.

I downloaded the font called "Hawaiian Punk" from www.dafont.com. (The info on the invite below is made up.)

Thanks for stopping by!
