Butterfly Ball Tablescape

My children's school has an annual Butterfly Ball (a Daddy/Daughter dance).  Never fear, there is one for Mommies and Sons as well.  Well, it is almost time for it again, so I am currently in the planning stages of my table this year.  But, I thought I would show you pics of my table from last year.  I had a lot of fun but learned a few things like 1) Those tables are SMALL.  2) This year keep the decorations lower.  3) I won't be literal with my theme this year.  4) And, out of my control, I've been told NO party favors this year--boo!

So take a look:

I bought the greenery at Garden Ridge Pottery and the butterflies at Michael's.

Each place setting that was reserved had a mini watering can with a personalized place card that I made tied to it and a copy of the poem "The Butterfly's Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast" by William Roscoe. The butterflies on the place cards were made using the Cuttlebug die cut and embossing folder.

I loved these butterflies.  They were on stiff wires so that some of them looked like they were fluttering above the greenery!

I loved the Spanish Moss.  I think it made a neat "table runner", and the pots of lavender tied into the tablecloth.
