My Favorite Christmas Candy

So, I am having a little party later this week, and I thought about a few finger food desserts to put out.  My mind immediately went to my favorite Christmas candy--Magic Cookie Bars.  My Mom started making this years ago, and now it's just not the holiday season without it!  So I decided to share the recipe with the PYL viewers.

Magic Cookie Bars

1/2 Cup Margarine or Butter
1 1/2 Cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 14 ounce Can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 15 ounce pkg of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (though I must confess I probably put more than that in the recipe)
1 Cup Chopped Pecans
Coconut (if desired....but, ick...)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Melt margarine in a 13 x 9 inch pan.  Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over margarine and press down.  Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs.  Top with remaining ingredients.  Press down.  Bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned.  Cool.  Chill if desired.  Cut into bars.  Store loosely covered at room temperature.  (I store them in holiday tins.  Makes great gifts.)  Makes 24-36 bars.
