Connecting with the Crafter: Kathy Bryant

Today PYL is featuring crafter Kathy Bryant. Here was her wreath entry for the Sugarplums and Snowmen Wreath Contest.

Now take a moment to get to know a little about Kathy by reading her "Connecting with the Crafter" interview with PYL.

What's your name?
Kathy Bryant

Where do you live?
North Carolina

What was the inspiration for your wreath entry in the contest?
When I read the name of the contest the first thing that popped into my head was the book that I used to read to my children and I read as a kid "Twas the Night Before Christmas".

What/When did you start crafting?
Around 18 or 20. I took sewing in school and have always liked to sew. I love wreaths but am not willing to pay a lot for them so I started making my own.

Where's your favorite place to find craft supplies?
Carolina Pottery or New River Pottery, Michael's, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, or online. Just depends on what I am crafting.

Tell us about your crafting space--spacious crafting suite or I craft like a nomad--constantly on the move to the best space available at the time!
Well, we just moved into a new house in March and it has an extra bedroom that was supposed to be my sewing/crafting room. It isn't very big though. Very soon it had my things along with all of my husband and sons bows and arrows and hunting stuff because it can't go in the attic and my husband doesn't have a man cave. So now I have to go in my crafting room and get what I need and come out to my dining room table and work. Hopefully things will change in the future!

What's your favorite occasion to craft for?
Halloween, Fall & Christmas

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do?
I like to read, shop and spend time watching my son, who's 16, play all of his sports. My daughter is 21 and I love to spend time with her too and she helps me with my crafting and around the house.

And these are just for fun:

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Hot Pink

Coffee or Soda?
Soda (Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi)

And finally, Tis the Season:

“Miracle on 34th Street” or “A Christmas Story” or “Christmas Vacation”?
Probably "Christmas Vacation". I would rather laugh than cry.
